Tim Hardiman is a former NYPD Inspector who starred in American Dream on TNT's Cold Justice.

Biography

Tim Hardiman is a 23 year veteran of the NYPD who retired in 2009 at the rank of Inspector. During his career Tim served as the Commanding Officer of the 71 Detective Squad, Brooklyn Special Victims Squad, Queens South Task Force, Leadership Development Section, 50 & 47 Precincts. He is a graduate of the 194th Session of the FBI National Academy. Tim is also an adjunct faculty member of American Military University where he teaches several diverse courses on criminal justice. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Marist College. Tim is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Tim has been consulting with SVU since 2004. During his tenure with SVU Tim has helped numerous writers, directors and actors accurately portray New York City Police Officers. He has a great depth of knowledge of the law and police procedures. He has helped writers get just the right tone from their characters and helped actors master the physical aspects of portraying a police detective. He knows to balance procedural accuracy against the need to provide entertaining drama. Tim's teaching and research helps him stay current on changes in laws and procedures. His incredibly wide network of law enforcement officers gives him access to experts in almost any specialty within policing. He is very proud to be a member of the SVU team.
